In Florida they advertise Kratom on TV. I stumbled into this site and collect ethnobotanicals. Do you sell any of these samples that you talk about here?
Advertising Kratom on TV in Florida? How can this not be the beginning of the end for this amazing, ancient plant that will soon be demonized and outlawed.
You should add Michigan to the “on a bill” list. Michigan has two bills on kratom, funded and started by Rep. Darany, HB 5707 is the one proposing a ban. The other happened after an influx of letters and emails begging him not to completely ban it, but regulate it and add an age restriction, and that’s exactly what the bill is proposing. Currently, neither are active or being pushed forward. According to BLD, the Rep wants to do more research before going any further on either, but people should be made aware of both bills and encouraged to continue to send letters and emails to Rep. Darany encouraging the house bill on kratom age restriction.
I don’t think Kratom is banned in Florida. The bill mentioned in the article cited died on 5/1/2015, see http://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2015/0764/?Tab=BillHistory
Is there another bill in question?
It’s legal in MOST counties in Florida. There’s only one or a few I believe that have made it illegal however more could easily make it illegal in theory very soon. There is a bright side however, just yesterday legislation to make it illegal state wide failed to get passed. It’s probably safe for at least the rest of the year.
Keep in mind, Kratom is completely illegal in the state of Arkansas as well.
I agree with Keith, that advertising kratom on TV is not acceptable behavior, only because the industry is under heavy pressure & scrutiny as it is. One false statement made in that TV ad or a single person who get’s sick / dies, and it’s over for everyone in the entire industry. I wish that TV ads we’re something I could condone, but at this time, it’s just so far from being a reality, that I believe that person to be dumb.
@ Andrew, kratom isn’t banned in FL, not totally…. yet. Here are some of the legislation action going on:
